Rehabilitation of Ukrainian children in Belgium under the ICC Ukraine-Belgium-Luxembourg project • 2017
From July 6 to July 20, 2017, the second rehabilitative program “STAR SUMMER 2017. BELGIUM” was held. ICC UKRAINE-BELUX organized the project “STAR SUMMER”. 15 Rotary Clubs of Ukraine and 16 Rotary Clubs of Belgium took part in the project. More than 250 children’s art works devoted to the history and culture of Belgium took part in the qualifying competition “WITH A SOUL to Belgium”. The famous Belgian artist Nadiya Sinichak chose 8 best works. The group of 23 children consisted of 2 parts. 15 children are the children of soldiers who died in Ukraine and 8 winners of an art competition (children from large families, immigrants and low-income families) In 2017, under the rehabilitation program, children visited Poland and Belgium. During these 15 days the children underwent a unique rehabilitation course. They drove for more than 1500 km and walked about 100 km!!! Children received an unforgettable experience of communication, teamwork and an unlimited amount of love, warmth.
